We recommend homeschool parents and students attend college night as early as the child’s 9th grade year. Since home schools are considered private schools in Texas, with individual requirements for graduation, it is a good idea to find out well ahead of time what will be required, as colleges have varying admission requirements and deadlines.

As a homeschool parent, you are your child’s guidance counselor, and the one who knows your child best. We offer this college night each year to help make your job a little easier. We recommend that you and your high school student attend college night several years in a row, to develop relationships with the recruiters/representatives who attend.

It is a good idea to look at many different colleges at the beginning of high school, and then begin to narrow down your choices as you research each college to determine which ones will be the best match for your child and family situation. You will not want to wait until your child’s senior year to make these important decisions. The more time you have to plan, the better prepared you will be.

We look forward to this opportunity for your family to meet with college representatives from various colleges and learn how to best prepare your child for college.

Representatives from all of the service academies will also be present, and they will have a special session at 6pm for students who would like to learn more about the academies and how to apply.

Because we need to let the colleges know ASAP approximately how many home school students will be attending, we are offering a special admission price for those who can respond to this invitation by December 31, 2014. As a home-schooling family ourselves, we know how busy you all are, particularly with the holiday season coming up. We want to make this as easy and as affordable as possible for you.

Early Registration Admission:
Pre-registrations received by December 31, 2014 (postmark date):
$10 per family

FREE – HEART of Texas Members with a valid Family I.D. card. You must pre-register online on or before the 31st. Bring your member card when you arrive at the registration table to check in.
