WELCOME to FRIDAY ADVENTURES!
Our mission is to glorify Jesus through every lesson, activity and relationship!
THEO’s FRIDAY ADVENTURES is a weekly drop-off program designed for homeschooled children in K-5th grade. (5 yrs. by Sept. 1st) Each Friday from 9:00 am – 1:30 pm, children engage in fun, hands-on activities that spark creativity and a deeper understanding of God’s creation and love! Our explorations in science, arts and crafts, language arts, music/drama, and more, are designed to enhance a child’s home learning without academic prerequisites or homework. Children are part of a group that is designed around their ages and balanced by boy/girl ratios for K-1, 2nd- 3rd & 4th – 5th.
WHAT A TYPICAL FRIDAY LOOKS LIKE!
Students begin the day with their home room teacher and then rotate through several other classrooms. Each classroom has a different project or activity centered around a coordinated learning theme. A typical day might include building rockets, sculpting with clay, making puppets to retell a story, singing, or learning about our galaxy!
Assistant teachers rotate with their group and remain with them throughout the day. After rotations, groups return to their home room teacher for lunch brought from home. We end the day with games, friendship activities, optional “Show and Tell” and a group story time! Occasionally, we will have guest presentations, a talent show or other special events.
Our warm and caring teachers, all background-checked and Ministry Safe trained, create a nurturing and joyful environment! Small class sizes-typically fewer than 12 students per group with 2 teachers per class- ensure that each child is seen, known, and cared for.
Safety is always a priority, with a “buddy system” for bathroom use, locked entry doors, cameras in hallways and exterior areas and emergency procedures in place. Parents must drop off and pick up that their child at the Friday Adventures door to ensure secure transitions. The office must be notified if someone other than those authorized on the application are picking up.
At Friday Adventures, children are encouraged and supported in developing meaningful and positive friendships. Following Biblical principles, we emphasis including others and showing kindness and respect to all. Time is given for building friendships throughout the day!
HOW PARENTS CAN PARTICIPATE AND BUILD COMMUNITY:
While Friday Adventures is not a co-op, parents are welcome to volunteer in various ways and get to know our teaching staff. Parents can also participate in our weekly Parent Coffee Hour, 9:00 – 10:00 am. This is a casual time at THEO’s building to connect, build community and share ideas for playdates or homeschool resources. Bring a cup of your favorite coffee and get to know other parents! Several special get togethers, such as Family Game Night, are planned throughout the year for parents and children to continue building connections with other Friday Adventure Families. A weekly newsletter is emailed to parents highlighting our Friday activities!
TUITION:
Friday Adventures’s non-refundable tuition is $170 per month. (September – May) with May being collected at registration. ). If you drop Friday Adventures mid-year, future month’s tuition is not due.
