Colorado Christian University (CCU) Classes
CCU classes are yearlong, providing ample time to thoroughly grasp and master concepts. This extended duration contrasts with the accelerated pace often found in community colleges, ensuring a more relaxed and effective learning environment—more learning, less stress.
Easy registration: No TSI test score required! Register for the class through THEO like any other THEO class. After the course begins, register with CCU (takes about 5 minutes—no holds, no hoops). CCU registration remains open until the spring semester, giving your student time to “test the waters” before committing to an official college transcript grade.
CCU Classes Offered:
- College Algebra (taught by Dixie Hacker)
- Computer Science I: Python & Cyber Security (taught by Michael Hayes)
- American Literature (taught by Alynda Long)

What Friday Adventures Offers
A Typical Friday
Students begin the day with their homeroom teacher and then rotate through several other classrooms. Each classroom has a different project or activity centered around a coordinated learning theme. A typical day might include building rockets, sculpting with clay, making puppets to retell a story, singing, or learning about our galaxy!
Assistant teachers rotate with their group and remain with them throughout the day. After rotations, groups return to their homeroom teacher for lunch (brought from home). We end the day with games, friendship activities, optional Show and Tell, and group story time. Occasionally, we host guest presentations, talent shows, or other special events.
Safe, Nurturing Environment
Our warm and caring teachers—all background-checked and Ministry Safe trained—create a joyful environment where children feel seen, known, and cared for. Small class sizes (typically fewer than 12 students per group with 2 teachers per class) ensure personalized attention.
Safety is always a priority with:
- Buddy system for bathroom use.
- Locked entry doors.
- Cameras in hallways and exterior areas.
- Emergency procedures are in place.
- Secure drop-off and pick-up at the Friday Adventures door.
Building Friendships & Community:
At Friday Adventures, children are encouraged and supported in developing meaningful, positive friendships. Following biblical principles, we emphasize including others and showing kindness and respect to all. Time is given for building friendships throughout the day.
While Friday Adventures is not a co-op, parents are welcome to volunteer in various ways and participate in our weekly Parent Coffee Hour (9:00–10:00 AM)—a casual time at THEO’s building to connect, build community, and share ideas for playdates or homeschool resources. Several special get-togethers, such as Family Game Night, are planned throughout the year. A weekly newsletter highlights our Friday activities.
- Students must be respectful and kind in action and speech.
- Children remain with teachers or staff at all times.
